The inspiration for Organp stems from the promising prospects of using biological cells in 3D printers for medical purposes. This technology has already made significant contributions to humanity, and with Organp, the designers aim to solve the issue of cell survival rate and improve the precision of cell printing, thereby promoting the advancement of biological cell printing technology.
What sets Organp apart from other designs is its unique properties. The printer features temperature control and aseptic treatment, a high-precision positioning and assembly system, and an automatic mixing and cleaning sterilization system. It uses synthetic polymer and its composite scaffold for natural polymer scaffolds. These features ensure a fully automated, clean, and precise printing process.
The realization of Organp's design involved meticulous control of temperature for precise treatment and accurate positioning. The use of synthetic polymer and its composite scaffold for natural polymer scaffolds further enhances the design's uniqueness. The product, measuring 600mm*500mm*600mm, serves as a medium for printing cell or organ tissue.
The project, which began in 2016 and was completed in 2017, posed several challenges. One of the main challenges was ensuring a sterile working space for the product. Despite these challenges, the team, which also included Zhuo Wang, Yu Tan, and Mingfang Zhang, was successful in realizing organ regeneration, thereby making a significant contribution to humanity.
Organp's innovative design and potential impact on the medical field did not go unnoticed. In 2018, it was awarded the Silver A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design Award, a prestigious recognition given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. This award is a testament to the team's technical prowess and artistic skill, and their commitment to introducing a remarkable level of excellence in the field of medical technology.
